Tips to Prevent Your AirPods Batteries Draining Too Quickly
Are your AirPods batteries draining too quickly? This can be frustrating, especially if you enjoy listening to music or taking phone calls throughout the day. Fortunately, there are several tips you can follow to help prevent your AirPods batteries from draining too quickly.
1. Turn off Automatic Ear Detection
By default, your AirPods are set to automatically detect when they are in your ear and turn on. However, this feature can quickly drain your battery if you take your AirPods out frequently or forget to turn them off. To turn off Automatic Ear Detection, go to Settings on your iPhone, then tap Bluetooth, and select your AirPods. Toggle off the switch for Automatic Ear Detection.
2. Turn off Noise Cancellation
Noise Cancelling can be helpful in noisy environments, but it consumes a lot of battery power. If you don’t need this feature, turn it off to preserve your battery life. To turn off Noise Cancellation, go to Control Center on your iPhone and tap and hold the volume bar. Then, select Noise Cancellation, and turn it off.
3. Use One AirPod at a Time
If you’re not using both AirPods simultaneously, it’s better to use just one AirPod at a time. This can significantly extend the battery life of your AirPods. To use only one AirPod at a time, simply take one out of its charging case, and the other AirPod goes out of your ear.
4. Keep Your AirPods Clean
Dirt, sweat, and earwax can accumulate on your AirPods over time, causing blockages that can affect their performance and reduce their battery life. To clean your AirPods, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe off any dirt or debris. You can also use a damp cloth, but be sure to avoid getting moisture inside the AirPods.
5. Use Low Power Mode
Apple’s Low Power Mode can help extend the battery life of your iPhone and AirPods. To turn on Low Power Mode, go to Settings on your iPhone, and select Battery. Then, toggle on the switch for Low Power Mode.
6. Store Your AirPods in Their Case
When you’re not using your AirPods, be sure to store them in their charging case. This prevents them from draining their battery while not in use, and makes sure they are always fully charged when you need them.
