The Bachelorette Recap: Let Me Tick, Bro
Monday night’s episode of The Bachelorette was all about getting real, getting emotional, and getting a little bit messy. But before we dive into the drama, let’s talk about the real star of the show: those stunning outfits. Who else is loving Peter Weber’s Hawaiian-shirt-approved fashion sense? Asking for a friend.
Moving on to the drama, Clare Crawley’s season is heating up (pun intended). The bachelorette found herself in a particularly heated argument with one of her suitors, Blake Moynes, after his apparent lack of effort to make a connection. But did he really deserve that kind of berating? We think not.
Let’s get to the good stuff: the group date. This week’s adventure took the remaining contestants on a hike through the beautiful California wilderness, followed by a picnic and some quality time with The Bachelorette herself. The real excitement, however, came when an impromptu game of “Let Me Tick” (read: a questionable game of Truth or Dare) broke out. It’s safe to say that some of our contestants took the “let me tick” rules a little too literally.
For those who didn’t catch the rules, it’s essential to know that “Let Me Tick” is not a legitimate game, and we’re not sure if it’s even a thing outside of The Bachelorette. It’s basically a spin on Truth or Dare, but with more yelling and less subtlety. Clare, take note: this is not the kind of activity you should promote in your spare time.
Speaking of taking things too far, we have to mention Dale from the episode’s infamous limo entrance. The contestant, dressed in a full leather bodysuit and boots, strutted his stuff down the driveway, complete with chainsaw in hand. It’s safe to say that his entrance was the most memorable of the season… for all the wrong reasons.
In all seriousness, this episode shed some light on the importance of communication in relationships. It’s clear that not everyone is ready for the kind of commitment Clare is seeking, and it’s okay to admit that. We’re rooting for the contestants who are genuine and willing to put in the work, and we’re not too sad to see the ones who are not ready for love.
As the episode came to a close, Clare’s doubts about her remaining contestants began to grow. Will she find her happily ever after, or will she end up alone, stuck in a cycle of drama and uncertainty? Only time will tell.
For now, we’re just happy to have some new phrases to add to our vocabulary: “Let me tick” being the top contender. We’re not sure if it’ll catch on, but we’re excited to find out.
