Red Dead Redemption 2: 5 Best Places To Find Gold Bars
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a sprawling Western tale filled with outlaws, gunslingers, and vast treasures waiting to be found. Among these treasures are the elusive gold bars, which are not only incredibly valuable but also a key to unlocking new items and upgrades. Here are the five best places to unearth these golden treasures.
1. Limpany – The Burned Town
One of the earliest places where players can stumble upon a gold bar is in the remnants of Limpany, a small mining town south of Horseshoe Overlook. The town has seen better days, reduced to ash after a fire razed through it. In the Sheriff’s office amongst the rubble, there sits a lockbox under his desk containing a gold bar.
2. Train Wreck at Cotorra Springs
North of Valentine lies an unfortunate scene where a train has met its end tumbling down from the tracks above. At this location in Cotorra Springs, you’ll find two gold bars among the wreckage. To retrieve them, climb onto the ledge above the train cars and enter the car with its door facing upwards.
3. The Statues Puzzle in Whinyard Strait
Deep within Ambarino territory near Whinyard Strait lies a cave of statues – seven solemn figures standing in a circle. By solving this riddle that involves pressing the buttons on certain statues based on the number of fingers each is holding up, players are rewarded with three gold bars.
4. Braithwaite Manor
Located to the south of Rhodes is Braithwaite Manor. If a player ventures here outside of story missions and manages to infiltrate into the manor grounds stealthily, they will find a small lockbox with a gold bar inside an old burned-out sheriff’s office on this estate.
5. The Cave Behind Elysian Pool
For those brave enough to explore the toxic caves behind Elysian Pool in New Hanover, there’s gold awaiting them at its conclusion. The entrance may require players to deal with toxic fumes and sickly animals, but within there’s another puzzle leading to two more gold bars.
Gold bars can fetch a handsome sum of money at any fence throughout the game world or be used as camp funds or personal currency for Arthur Morgan’s many needs on his journey through the Wild West saga that is Red Dead Redemption 2.
Remember that obtaining these gold bars often requires specific events to unfold or additional quests and items such as keys or lock breaker tools; thus, thorough exploration and interaction with the game world are encouraged to make sure no stone is left unturned in your search for riches.
