Quitting Yahoo? Here’s How to Delete a Yahoo Email Account
As the internet evolves, sometimes we have to leave behind the services that we used to love. One of the services that many people seem to be moving away from is Yahoo. Whether it’s because of security concerns or just a desire for something new, people are choosing to leave Yahoo behind. If you’d like to delete your Yahoo email account, here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Visit the Yahoo Account Termination page.
To start the process, visit Yahoo’s Account Termination page. This page can be accessed by clicking here, or by navigating to the Yahoo Login page and clicking the “Trouble Signing In?” link. From there, you can select the “Terminating your Yahoo account” option.
Step 2: Sign in to your Yahoo account.
If you aren’t already signed in to your Yahoo account, you’ll need to do so now. Make sure you sign in to the account that you want to delete permanently.
Step 3: Review the “Terminating your Yahoo account” page.
On this page, you’ll be given some important information about what will happen after you delete your Yahoo account. Take the time to read through this information carefully before you proceed.
Step 4: Confirm your password.
To prove that you’re the owner of the account, Yahoo will ask you to confirm your current password. Type it in the box provided and click “Continue”.
Step 5: Verify your identity.
Yahoo will ask you to verify your identity by entering a code that they will send to either your mobile number or alternate email address. Select the option that works best for you and enter the code when it arrives.
Step 6: Confirm that you want to delete your account.
After you’ve completed the previous steps, Yahoo will give you one last chance to change your mind. If you’re sure that you want to delete your account permanently, click “Yes, terminate this account”.
Step 7: You’re done!
That’s it! Your Yahoo email account has been deleted permanently. Remember that this process is irreversible, so make sure you no longer need any of the information in that account before you delete it.
