One Killed, One Wounded in Shooting at Sun Valley Ralphs
A deadly shooting occurred at a Ralphs supermarket in Sun Valley, California, resulting in one fatality and one injury. The incident took place late Tuesday, November 12, at approximately 11:40 p.m. at the store located at 8325 Laurel Canyon Blvd., south of Roscoe Boulevard.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, three men followed two other men into the store and attacked them with pipe wrenches. Security footage captured the altercation, showing that one of the men under attack drew a gun and opened fire on the three assailants, who then fled the store.
Two people were shot during the incident. A 19-year-old male later died at the hospital from a gunshot wound to the upper torso, while an 18-year-old man was hospitalized in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The shooter, who apparently also ran out of the grocery store, has not been identified. However, authorities later arrested Jorge Armenta, 18, on suspicion of murder. Details on the circumstances leading up to the altercation were not released, and it’s unclear if Armenta was with the group originally under attack.
This incident has shocked the local community and raised concerns about public safety. The Los Angeles Police Department is continuing its investigation into the shooting and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
