Is the Xbox App Not Working on Windows? Try These Fixes
If you are a gamer who uses Windows, you might run into an issue where the Xbox app stops working. This can be frustrating, especially if you rely on the app for various gaming functionalities. Luckily, there are some fixes you can try to get the Xbox app up and running again.
1. Update your Windows system: The first thing you should do when the Xbox app is not working is to check if your operating system is updated. Microsoft often releases updates that improve system performance and fix compatibility issues, and updating your Windows might help you solve the problem.
2. Check if Xbox app services are running: The Xbox app relies on several underlying services such as Xbox Live Auth Manager and Xbox Live Game Save to function. If any of these services fail, the app will stop working. To check if the services are working, press Win + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box, then type services.msc and press Enter. Look for Xbox Live Auth Manager and Xbox Live Game Save, right-click them, and select Start if the services are not running.
3. Check your internet connection: The Xbox app requires a stable internet connection to function correctly. If your Wi-Fi is not working well or if there’s a slow connection, this can cause issues with the app. Try resetting your router or modem and see if it makes a difference.
4. Reset the Xbox app: Sometimes, the Xbox app might not work due to corrupted files or settings. To fix this, you can reset the app. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, then locate Xbox gaming overlay and Xbox (Beta). Select these apps and click the Advanced options link. Select the Reset option and confirm.
5. Reinstall the Xbox app: If none of the above methods work, you might want to consider uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox app. To do this, go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, then locate Xbox gaming overlay and Xbox (Beta). Select these apps and click the Uninstall button. Go to the Microsoft Store and download the Xbox app again.
