How to Use Shazam on Apple Watch
Shazam is a powerful music identification tool, and using it on your Apple Watch can be quite handy. Here’s how to use Shazam on your Apple Watch to discover what song is playing around you.
First, make sure you have the Shazam app installed on your iPhone that’s paired with your Apple Watch. Shazam is available for free on the App Store.
To start identifying music with Shazam on your Apple Watch, follow these steps:
1. Press the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch to access the Home screen.
2. Swipe through the list of apps or use the grid view to find Shazam.
3. Tap the Shazam app icon to open it.
4. Once the app is open, you will see a big blue button that says ‘Tap to Shazam’. Simply tap it, and Shazam will start listening for music.
5. Make sure there is music playing near you and that it’s loud and clear enough for your Apple Watch’s microphone to pick up.
The app will then listen to the ambient music and within a few seconds, it should identify the song and provide you with the title and artist information right on your watch face.
If you want even faster access to Shazam, you can add it to your watch face as a complication:
1. Press firmly on your watch face to enter customization mode.
2. Swipe left or right to choose a watch face that supports complications.
3. Tap ‘Edit’ and swipe to go to the ‘Complications’ screen.
4. Tap the complication slot where you want to add Shazam.
5. Rotate the Digital Crown until you find Shazam in the list of available complications.
6. Tap ‘Add’ to include Shazam in your watch face.
Now, when you want to identify music around you, you can just tap the Shazam complication from your watch face for an even quicker start.
Another convenient feature is that if you’re not actively looking at your Apple Watch but hear a tune you want to identify, just ask Siri. Hold down the Digital Crown or say “Hey Siri,” followed by “What song is this?” to have Siri identify songs through Shazam without having to open the app.
Your Apple Watch syncs all songs recognized by Shazam across all devices signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID. So, no matter where you identify a song, whether on your iPhone or Apple Watch, you’ll have a centralized list of discovered songs which can be accessed through the Shazam app on any of your devices.
Using Shazam on an Apple Watch is extremely user-friendly and practical for any music lover looking to quickly identify songs without having to pull out their phone. With just a few taps or via asking Siri, song titles and artist information are readily available right at your wrist.
