How to Use (or Disable) Shake to Undo on Your iPhone
If you are an iPhone user, you may have noticed a handy feature called “Shake to Undo,” which allows you to undo a recent action by simply shaking your iPhone. This feature can be useful if you accidentally delete text or make a mistake while typing, but it can also be annoying if it is triggered by accident.
In this article, we will discuss how to use and disable Shake to Undo on your iPhone.
Using Shake to Undo:
To use Shake to Undo on your iPhone, simply follow these steps:
1. Open the app where you want to use Shake to Undo (such as Messages, Notes, or Mail).
2. Type or edit text as usual.
3. If you make a mistake or want to undo a recent action, shake your iPhone gently from side to side.
4. A pop-up menu will appear with the option to Undo or Cancel. Tap Undo to revert the most recent action.
Note: Shake to Undo only works for editing actions such as deleting text, pasting, or moving text or objects. It does not work for actions such as sending a message or closing an app.
Disabling Shake to Undo:
If you find that Shake to Undo is triggering accidentally or you simply do not want to use this feature, you can disable it by following these steps:
1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
2. Tap on General and then select Accessibility.
3. Scroll down to the Interaction section and toggle off Shake to Undo.
Once Shake to Undo is disabled, you will no longer be able to use this feature by shaking your iPhone.
