How to Use iMessage

3. Verify that each contact appears in blue to ensure they are using iMessage and can participate in the group chat.
4. Type your message and tap on send, as usual, to initiate a group conversation.
Message Reactions and Effects
1. To add reactions (like a heart, thumbs up/down, or exclamation marks) to a message, press and hold on a specific message bubble until a menu pops up, then select your desired reaction.
2. To send effects with a text or by opening up full screen effects (like balloons or confetti), type your message, then press and hold on the send button until an Effects menu appears. Select your desired effect and tap on the send button again.
