How to Use Facebook’s Restricted List
Facebook’s Restricted List is a valuable tool that can be used to control the visibility of your posts to specific groups of people. Utilizing this feature can keep your personal information secure and private from unwanted viewers without completely blocking them.
The Restricted List is a list of users that you do not want to share everything with on Facebook, but you still want to keep them as friends. When you add someone to this list, they won’t see posts or updates on your timeline, depending on the settings you choose.
To set up a Restricted List, follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Go to your Friends List
To set up your Restricted List, start by clicking on your profile picture and selecting “Friends” from the top of the page.
Step 2: Select the “Edit Friend Lists” option
Once you are on your Friends List, locate the “Edit Friend Lists” option at the top of the page and click on it.
Step 3: Create the Restricted List
Click on the “Create List” option and give your group a name, such as “Restricted List.” From here, you can select the individuals you want to add to the group.
Step 4: Adjust the privacy settings
Once the list is created, you can select the privacy settings you desire. If you want to prevent people on the Restricted List from seeing your posts, select “Friends Except Restricted.” If you want to prevent the Restricted List from seeing specific posts, select “Specific Friends” and exclude the Restricted List from the selected audience.
Using the Restricted List is a great way to tailor your audience on Facebook without sacrificing friendships. Posting things on Facebook doesn’t mean everything has to be visible to everyone. With the Restricted List, you can control your privacy and still keep in touch with people who might not need to see everything you share.
