How to Undelete Voicemails on iPhone
There’s nothing worse than accidentally deleting a voicemail that you meant to keep. Thankfully, it’s easy to undelete voicemails on an iPhone.
Here’s how to do it:
1. Open the Phone app.
2. Tap “Voicemail” located in the bottom right corner.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the voicemail list and tap on “Deleted Messages.”
4. You will see a list of all the recently deleted voicemails. To undelete a particular voicemail, tap on it.
5. Once you’ve selected the voicemail you want to recover, tap on “Undelete.”
6. The voicemail will now be moved back to your regular voicemail list.
In case your voicemail has been deleted more than 30 days ago, it may be permanently deleted from your iPhone. However, if you have a backup of your iPhone on iCloud, it may be possible to recover the deleted voicemail.
To restore a deleted voicemail from an iCloud backup:
1. Go to Settings > General > Reset.
2. Select “Erase All Content and Settings.”
3. Set up your iPhone again and select “Restore from iCloud Backup.”
4. Choose the backup that contains the deleted voicemail.
5. Wait for the iPhone to restore your backup.
6. Open the Phone app and go to “Voicemail.”
7. Scroll down to “Deleted Messages.”
8. Your deleted voicemails should be available for recovery.
Although voicemails can be incredibly valuable, they can also be space-occupying. Hence, it’s important to manage your voicemails from time to time to avoid deleting important ones by mistake.
To prevent this happening in the future, enable the “Save Deleted Messages” option in your iPhone’s voicemail settings. This will automatically save all your deleted voicemails for up to 30 days. To do this, go to Settings > Phone > Voicemail > “Deleted Messages” > “Keep Deleted Messages” > “One Month.”
It’s that simple! Remember to always double check before deleting any voicemails, and if you do delete one by mistake, simply follow these steps to recover it.
