How to Undelete a Message Quickly in Outlook
Outlook is an amazing email program used by millions of people around the world for sending and receiving messages. This program is very easy to use and is very beneficial in managing your emails in one place. It is very important to keep your email inbox clean and organized. However, accidents can always happen, and sometimes we accidentally delete an important message that we really needed. Don’t worry, in this article, we will explain how to undelete a message quickly in Outlook.
Step 1: Go to the ‘Deleted Items’ Folder
Open Outlook and go to the ‘Deleted Items’ folder. This folder contains all the recently deleted items, including the email message you are looking for. If you can’t find the deleted items folder, click on the ‘Folder’ tab and select ‘Deleted Items’ from the list of folders.
Step 2: Select and Move the Deleted Message
Once you have located the ‘Deleted Items’ folder, find the message that you want to undelete. Right-click on the message and select ‘Move’ from the context menu. From the list of folders, select the folder where you want to move the deleted message. This could be your inbox, a specific folder, or any other folder where you want to restore the message.
Step 3: Check the Restored Message
Once you have moved the deleted message to the desired folder, go to that folder and check if the message has been restored successfully. If you can see the message, then congratulations, you have successfully undeleted the message!
Step 4: Use the Recover deleted items feature
If you can’t find the deleted message in the ‘Deleted Items’ folder, then you can use Outlook’s built-in ‘Recover deleted items’ feature. To do that, go to the ‘Deleted Items’ folder and click on the ‘Folder’ tab. From the drop-down menu, select ‘Recover deleted items’. This will open a new window with a list of all the messages that have been deleted from that folder.
Step 5: Select and Restore the Deleted Message
Find the message you want to restore and click the ‘Restore Selected Items’ button. This will restore the message to the ‘Deleted Items’ folder. From there, you can follow the steps mentioned in Step 2 to move the message to any desired folder.
Finally, with these simple steps, you can easily undelete an important email message that you accidentally deleted in Outlook. However, it is important to note that Outlook has a default setting to permanently delete items from the ‘Deleted Items’ folder after a certain period of time. So, it is advised to take immediate action when you delete an important message to have the best chance of undeleting it.
