How to Strikethrough on Google Docs
Google Docs is a powerful online word processing tool that provides numerous features and functionalities to create and edit documents. One such feature is the ability to strikethrough a text, which can be quite helpful when you need to show the deletions or corrections made in a document.
Step 1: Open Google Docs
The first step is to open Google Docs, either through the Google Drive or by typing docs.google.com in your browser’s address bar. Once the page loads, you can either create a new document or open an existing one that you want to edit.
Step 2: Select the Text to Strikethrough
Next, you need to select the text you want to strike through. You can either highlight the entire line or a particular word for strikethrough.
Step 3: Use the Strikethrough Option
Once you have selected the text, go to the toolbar at the top of the page and click on the “Format” option. A drop-down menu will appear, where you need to hover over “Text” and click on “Strikethrough.”
Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut “Alt + Shift + 5” (Windows) or “Option + Shift + 5” (Mac) to apply the strikethrough formatting to selected text.
Step 4: Review the Strikethrough Text
You will now see the selected text with a line drawn through it, indicating that it has been struck through. You can review the document to ensure that the formatting has been applied correctly.
Step 5: Remove Strikethrough
If you want to remove the strikethrough formatting, select the text and click on the “Strikethrough” option in the toolbar or use the keyboard shortcut to toggle off the strikethrough style.
