How to Send FaceTime Video Message on iPhone
Sending a FaceTime video message on an iPhone is not a feature directly available through the FaceTime app itself, as of my knowledge cutoff in 2023. However, you can send video messages to your contacts through iMessage, which is integrated into the iOS operating system. Here’s how you can do it:
Make sure you have the latest version of iOS installed on your iPhone to have the best experience and to ensure that you have all of the latest features.
Open the Messages app on your iPhone.
Start a new conversation or select an existing one with the contact you want to send a video message to.
Tap on the camera icon to the left of the text box to take a new video, or tap on the photo library icon to choose an existing video from your phone’s library.
To record a new video, hold down the red record button. You can slide your finger up to lock recording if you wish to record hands-free.
Once you’ve finished recording, you can replay the video by tapping the play button or redo it by tapping “x” and then record again.
When you’re satisfied with your video message, tap on the blue send arrow button to send it to your contact.
The recipient will receive your video message as part of your iMessage conversation. They can view it within their Messages app.
Note that sending media via iMessage may use data if you are not connected to Wi-Fi and you may be liable for data charges depending on your plan.
Remember that this guide is based on sending a video message via iMessage as an alternative to FaceTime since direct FaceTime video message functionality isn’t available as part of FaceTime features up to early 2023. If Apple has updated its FaceTime service after my knowledge cutoff date, please refer to their official resources for updated guidance.
