How to Save Your iPhone Messages to iCloud
iPhones have become integral parts of our daily lives. We use them to communicate with our friends, family, and colleagues, send messages, photos, videos, and more. However, sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances, we may lose our important messages on our phones. For instance, we may lose our phones, they may be damaged, or we may accidentally delete our messages. Losing our messages can be frustrating as they can contain valuable information and memories. Fortunately, Apple has introduced a feature that enables iPhone users to save their messages to iCloud. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to save your iPhone messages to iCloud.
Step 1: Update your iPhone to the latest iOS version
Ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest iOS version. To update your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Software update. If there’s an update available, follow the instructions to download and install the update.
Step 2: Enable iCloud backup
To save your messages to iCloud, you need to enable iCloud backup first. Go to Settings > [your name]> iCloud > iCloud Backup. Toggle on iCloud Backup and tap on Back Up Now.
Step 3: Check if Message backup is enabled
Once you’ve enabled iCloud backup, ensure that message backup is also enabled. Go to Settings > [your name]> iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups > (your iPhone name). Scroll down and check if Messages is enabled. If it’s not, toggle it on.
Step 4: Backup Messages to iCloud
To backup your messages to iCloud, go to Settings > Messages > Messages in iCloud. Toggle on Messages in iCloud. Your iPhone will now start backing up your messages to iCloud.
Step 5: View your Messages in iCloud
You can view your saved messages on iCloud by going to Settings > [your name]> iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups > (your iPhone name) > Show All Apps. Find Messages and tap on it. You’ll see a list of all your messages backed up to iCloud.
