How to Play Cricket Darts: 8 Steps
.Understand the game objectives: Cricket is a popular dart game that combines precision, strategy, and the ability to perform basic arithmetic. The goal is to “close” all the numbers from 15 to 20, as well as the bull’s-eye before your opponent while accumulating points.
.Familiarize yourself with the dartboard: A standard dartboard is divided into 20 numbered sections and a bull’s-eye in the center. The outer ring is worth double points and the inner ring worth triple points. The outer bull (green) is worth 25 points, while the inner bull (red) is worth 50 points.
.Set up your team: Cricket can be played with two players or two teams. Each player/team takes turns throwing three darts per round.
.Determine who goes first: To decide who starts the game, each player throws one dart at the bull’s-eye, and the closest one to the center goes first.
.Close your numbers: In order to “close” a number, you must hit it three times with your darts in any combination of singles, doubles, or triples. For example, hitting a single 20, a double 20 (outer ring), or a triple 20 (inner ring) will close the number for you.
.Earn points: Once you’ve closed a number, any additional hits on that number will earn you points equal to its face value multiplied by its multiplier until your opponent closes that number as well.
.Close the bull’s-eye: Similar to numbers, closing the bull’s-eye requires hitting it three times – either with combinations of outer bulls and inner bulls or three inner bulls.
.Declare a winner: The first player/team to close all numbers (15-20) and bull’s-eye and have equal or more points than their opponent wins the game. If both players/teams close all numbers and bull’s-eye without accumulating points, then the game ends in a tie.
