How to Pair an Apple Watch With Your iPhone
If you’re an owner of an Apple Watch, one of the first things you’ll need to do is pair it with your iPhone. Follow these easy steps to get started.
Step 1: Make sure both devices are compatible
To pair an Apple Watch with an iPhone, you’ll need an iPhone 6 or later running at least iOS 14. You’ll also need an Apple Watch Series 3 or later, unless you have the original Apple Watch model, in which case you’ll need an iPhone running at least iOS 11.
Step 2: Turn on your Apple Watch
Hold down the side button on your Apple Watch until the Apple logo appears.
Step 3: Bring your iPhone near the Apple Watch
With Bluetooth turned on, bring your iPhone near your Apple Watch. A message will appear on the watch asking if you want to start pairing.
Step 4: Tap “Start Pairing” on both devices
When prompted on both devices, tap “Start Pairing.” A pattern will appear on your Apple Watch screen, which your iPhone camera will need to scan.
Step 5: Follow the prompts
Follow the prompts on both devices to complete the pairing process. You’ll need to agree to the terms and conditions and choose whether you want to set up your Apple Watch as a new device or restore from a backup.
Step 6: Sign in with your Apple ID
If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID and set up any additional features you want, such as Apple Pay or Siri.
Step 7: Wait for the syncing to complete
Your devices will now start syncing, which may take a few minutes. When complete, you’ll get a notification on your Apple Watch that it’s ready to use.
Congratulations! You’ve now successfully paired your Apple Watch with your iPhone. Enjoy all the features and benefits that come with these two devices working together seamlessly.
