How to Outline Text or Add Borders to Text in Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop is a powerful software that is widely used by designers, photographers, and artists. It allows users to create and edit images, add text, apply effects, and more. One of the useful features of Adobe Photoshop is the ability to add borders or outlines to text. Whether you want to create a simple logo or add some flair to your social media posts, adding a border or outline to text can give it a professional and polished look.
Here’s how to add borders or outlines to text in Adobe Photoshop:
Step 1: Open Adobe Photoshop and create a new document or open an existing one where you want to add text.
Step 2: Select the Text tool from the toolbar on the left-hand side of the screen.
Step 3: Click on the canvas where you want to add your text and type it out.
Step 4: With your text layer selected, go to the Layers panel (usually located on the right-hand side of the screen) and click on the Layer Style button (the icon that looks like an “fx”).
Step 5: Select Stroke from the Layer Style menu. This will open the Stroke dialog box.
Step 6: In the Stroke dialog box, you can choose the color, size, position, and opacity of your border. You can also choose whether you want the border to be inside, outside, or centered on your text.
Step 7: Once you have customized your border, click OK to apply it to your text.
Step 8: If you want to add an outline to your text, go back to the Layer Style menu and select Outer Glow. This will open the Outer Glow dialog box.
Step 9: In the Outer Glow dialog box, you can choose the color, size, spread, and opacity of your outline. You can also choose whether you want the outline to be inside, outside, or centered on your text.
Step 10: Once you have customized your outline, click OK to apply it to your text.
Step 11: Save your document and you’re done!
