1.Prepare your hair

Before starting, make sure your hair is clean, dry, and tangle-free. For best results, brush through your hair to remove any knots or tangles.

2.Choose your hair knot style

5.Loop your hair

6.Create the knot

Once you have looped your hair around its base multiple times or until there is no more loose length left (depending on your hair length), tuck any leftover ends under the loop and hold it in place with one hand.

7.Secure with bobby pins

With your other hand, insert bobby pins into the looped hair to secure it in place; place pins near the base of the ponytail where they are less visible but can still keep everything in place.

8.Fan out the knot (optional)

To create more volume in your look or for textured updos like messy buns or milkmaid braids, gently tug on sections of the looped hair to create a more voluminous or textured appearance.

9.Set with hairspray (optional)

If you want your hair knot to stay in place and last longer, spray a small amount of hairspray on it to provide an extra hold.
