How to Edit Videos Before Sending Them in WhatsApp on iPhone and Android
Editing videos before sending them via WhatsApp can greatly enhance the sharing experience, ensuring that you present only the best content to your recipients. Here’s how you can edit videos on both iPhone and Android devices before sending them through WhatsApp.
iPhone:
1. Open Photos App: Before you even open WhatsApp, begin by editing your video in the Photos app where your video is saved.
2. Select Your Video: Browse through your library and select the video you wish to edit.
3. Edit Video: Tap on ‘Edit’ in the top right corner of the screen. Here you can trim the video by dragging either end of the timeline to create a new start or finish point.
4. Additional Adjustments: Use the editing tools available for exposure, contrast, saturation, and more to make your video look just right.
5. Save Your Edits: Once you are satisfied with your changes, tap ‘Done’, and save it as a new clip or overwrite the original.
6. Share Via WhatsApp: Now open WhatsApp, select the contact or group you would like to send the video to, tap on ‘+’ (plus), then Photo & Video Library, find and select your edited video, add a caption if desired, and hit send.
Android:
1. Open Gallery App: Find your video in the Gallery app on your Android device.
2. Select Your Video: Touch and hold the video you want to edit until it’s selected.
3. Edit Video: Tap on the pencil icon or ‘Edit’ option which appears – this may vary depending on your Android version or device brand.
4. Trimming and Adjustments: Just like on an iPhone, here you can trim the length of your video, and make adjustments to various aspects of quality if your phone’s gallery app allows it.
5. Save Edited Video: Once edits are done, save the changes. You may be prompted to save as a copy or overwrite; this choice is yours depending on whether you want to keep the original.
6. Send Via WhatsApp: Open WhatsApp and go into the conversation where you’d like to send the edited video. Tap on the paperclip icon for attachments, select ‘Gallery’, pick your edited video from there, possibly add text if needed, and press send.
Remember that WhatsApp has a size limit for media files – if your video is too long even after editing, consider breaking it up into segments or compressing it before sending it through WhatsApp.
