How to Draw Homer Simpson
The iconic father figure from the long-running animated series, “The Simpsons,” Homer Simpson has become a beloved character over the past three decades. If you have ever wanted to learn how to draw this funny and lovable cartoon character, you are in the right place. This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of drawing Homer Simpson with ease.
Materials:
– Pencil
– Eraser
– Paper
– Colored pencils or markers (optional)
Step 1: Draw a Circle for the Head
Begin by drawing a mid-sized circle in the center of your paper. This circle will serve as a guide for Homer’s head.
Step 2: Add the Eyes
Inside the circle, draw two more circles next to each other. These circles will be the eyes of Homer Simpson. Make sure they touch slightly at their sides.
Step 3: Draw the Nose
Below and to the left of the eyes, draw an elongated “J” shape for Homer’s nose. Make sure that it connects with his right eye on one end and protrudes outwards at the other end.
Step 4: Sketch His Mouth and Facial Features
A short distance below Homer’s nose, draw a line curving downwards and then back up like an upside-down ‘U’ for his mouth. Add another half-circle inside to represent his tongue. Now, draw two curved lines above his eyes for eyebrows, along with two smaller vertical lines on either side of these eyebrows to emphasize his concerned expression.
Step 5: Draw the Ears and Outline of His Face
Draw a semi-circular shape sticking outwards from both sides of Homer’s face for his ears. Now outline his face by drawing a line starting from one ear, following along with the lower half of your original circle, and connecting back to the other ear.
Step 6: Draw Homer’s Hair and Add Details
On Homer’s head, add roughly three strands of hair by drawing diagonal lines from the top of his head. Then, add details such as a small curve in his ears and two curved lines at the edge of his mouth.
Step 7: Draw the Body
Begin drawing Homer’s body by sketching a rectangular-shaped body extending below his head. Draw two medium-sized circles for his arms, and connect them to the body with smaller rectangles for upper arms. For his legs, draw two lines coming down from the bottom of his body. Add oval shapes for hands and feet, and provide details like fingers and toes.
Step 8: Dress Homer
Draw a V-shaped collar for his shirt, followed by short horizontal lines to show folds on the shirt. Finally, draw a belt and rectangle pockets on his pants.
Step 9: Clean Up Your Drawing
Use an eraser to clean up any unnecessary lines or mistakes made while drawing.
(Optional) Step 10: Color Your Drawing
You can use colored pencils or markers to color your drawing. Use yellow for Homer’s skin, white for his eyes, blue for pants, and brown or gray for hair and shoes. You can choose any color you like for Homer’s shirt.
Congratulations! You have now drawn your very own Homer Simpson! With these simple steps, you can recreate this classic cartoon character at any time. Happy drawing!
