Step 1: Gather the necessary materials
Before you begin, gather some paper, a pencil or pen, and an eraser. If you want to color your drawing, also have colored pencils or markers on hand.
Step 2: Draw a circle for the head
Start by drawing a circle in the middle of your paper. This will be Goku’s head. Make sure to leave enough space around it for the rest of his body and hair.
Step 3: Sketch the guidelines
Draw a vertical line down the center of the circle to easily visualize the symmetry. Then, add a horizontal line slightly below the middle of the circle, which will be Goku’s eye line.
Step 4: Draw the face features
Draw two almond-shaped eyes on the eye line – each eye should be roughly one-third of the head’s width apart. Add two thick eyebrows that curve upward. Then create a small downward curve for his nose and a wide smile for his mouth.
Step 5: Add details to his face
Draw semi-circles under each eye to represent Goku’s distinct cheek indentations. Add an ear on either side of his head with curved lines.
Step 6: Draw Goku’s spiky hair
Remember that Goku’s hair consists of numerous spikes and bangs. Begin with three long bangs that hang down over his forehead and work your way around his head, adding smaller spikes at different angles.
Step 7: Sketch in the neck
Draw two lines extending from below Goku’s ears down toward his shoulders – these will serve as his neck.
Step 8: Draw his torso
Sketch an elongated trapezoid shape for Goku’s chest. Remember to keep it proportional in size to his head and neck.
Step 9: Add clothing detail lines
Create lines on either side of Goku’s body to represent where his clothing folds. In addition, add his belt-like sash by drawing a rectangular shape across his waist.
Step 10: Draw his arms
Sketch two bent lines from Goku’s shoulders, and use cylindrical shapes to represent his biceps and forearms. Then, add small fists for his hands.
Step 11: Sketch his legs
Extend two curved lines from the bottom of Goku’s torso to form the upper part of his legs. Use simple shapes to represent the muscles on the legs and then draw smaller cylindrical shapes for his shins.
Step 12: Add his boots
Draw boots covering Goku’s feet. They should be rounded at the toe with a vertical line dividing them in half.
Step 13: Erase guidelines
Erase any unnecessary guidelines from your drawing, making sure not to accidentally remove any essential lines.
Step 14: Add finishing touches and color
Go over your drawing with a pen or darker pencil lines for a cleaner look. Optionally, you can now use colored pencils or markers to add color to Goku’s clothing, hair, and skin.
Congratulations! You’ve now drawn Goku in 14 steps! Don’t worry if your first attempt isn’t perfect – practice makes perfect. Keep trying until you’re happy with the result.
