How to Draw Charmander
Charmander, one of the most beloved Pokémon characters, has captured the hearts of millions worldwide. In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of drawing Charmander in a few simple steps.
What you’ll need:
– A pencil
– An eraser
– A sheet of paper
– Colored pencils or markers (optional)
Step 1: Outline the body
Begin by drawing a rounded oval shape for Charmander’s body. This will serve as the main framework for our character.
Step 2: Draw the head
Add a larger oval that connects to the top of the body, creating Charmander’s head. To give it the iconic expression, draw two curved lines with an inverted V shape in between them to form Charmander’s brows and eyes. Add two small circles inside the brows for its captivating eyes, and a small triangular nose at the center.
Step 3: Sketch the legs and feet
Draw Charmander’s front legs extending from either side of its body. Each leg should slightly curve outward and end with three small toes. Repeat a similar process for its back legs while angling them so it appears as if Charmander is standing.
Step 4: Add arms and claws
Starting from either side of the head, sketch two curved lines that reach the center of Charmander’s body for its arms. Don’t forget to add three ‘fingers’ to each hand for those adorable little claws.
Step 5: Design its tail and flame
Draw a long tail extending from Charmander’s backside, which tapers off towards the end. At the tip of the tail, sketch a wavy flame using several upward curves that meet in points at various heights.
Step 6: Create facial details and patterns
Add an open-mouth smile by drawing a crescent shape below Charmander’s nose. For its teeth, sketch a couple of short lines within the mouth. To complete Charmander’s unique look, draw a line connecting its eyes and curved ridges across its forehead.
Step 7: Finalize and color
Erase any unwanted lines and emphasize the outline with darker or bolder lines. Once you’re satisfied with your drawing, use colored pencils or markers to bring your Charmander to life. Its primary body color is orange, while the flame on its tail consists of vibrant yellow and red hues.
Congratulations! You’ve now successfully drawn Charmander. With practice, you’ll undoubtedly improve and soon be able to draw many more of your favorite Pokémon characters.
