How to Do the Hoedown Throwdown
The Hoedown Throwdown is a popular dance created by Miley Cyrus for her character Hannah Montana in the hit Disney Channel movie “Hannah Montana: The Movie.” This fun and energetic dance is a perfect way to let loose and have a good time. With simple, easy-to-follow steps, you can have everyone on the dance floor in no time. In this article, we will provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to do the Hoedown Throwdown.
1. Start with your feet shoulder-width apart and face forward. Your arms should be relaxed at your sides.
2. On count one, stomp your right foot forward while simultaneously swinging your left arm out to the side in an upward motion (popping it). Your right hand should remain at your side.
3. On count two, bring your left leg back in towards your body, bending at the knee, and stomp down with your left foot while swinging your left arm back down by your side. Your right arm will now swing out to the side (popping it).
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for a total of four times.
5. Next, take three small steps in place, starting with the right foot (counts 5-7), then perform a heel-and-toe twist by pivoting on the balls of both feet (count 8). This will cause you to face the opposite direction.
6. Perform four hip bumps in sync with counts 1-4. Make sure to exaggerate each hip bump for added effect.
7. Jump both of your feet outward (count 5) and throw both hands up in the air above your head (count 6). Quickly cross your arms over your chest (count 7) before jumping back into the starting position (count 8).
8. Repeat steps 1-7 in the new direction facing forward.
9. For the final section, perform four diagonal crosses – jumping diagonally to the right (count 1), jumping back to the center (count 2), jumping diagonally to the left (count 3) and finally, jumping back to the center (count 4).
10. Complete a full rotation turn by stepping forward with your right foot and spinning around (counts 5-8). As you spin, let your arms swing out to your sides in a circular motion.
11. Finish strong by performing three celebratory jumps in place (counts 1-3) followed by a big hand clap above your head on count 4.
