How to Do Curly Half-Braided Pigtails
Curly half-braided pigtails are a fun and stylish hairstyle, suitable for various occasions. Whether you’re going to a party, a wedding, or just want to try something new for a casual day, this hairstyle is perfect! Follow this step-by-step guide to create your very own curly half-braided pigtails.
1. Start with clean, dry hair: Make sure your hair is clean and dry before starting the hairstyle. If your hair is naturally curly, you may want to apply some curl enhancing product beforehand. If you have straight hair, you can use a curling iron or curlers to create soft curls.
2. Detangle your hair: Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to gently detangle your hair. This will help ease the braiding process.
3. Create a center parting: Use the end of a rattail comb to create a neat center parting down the middle of your head, from the forehead all the way back to the nape of your neck.
4. Divide your hair into two sections: Using the center parting as your guide, divide your hair into two equal sections and secure one side with a clip or scrunchie.
5. Begin braiding one side: Start with the unsecured section of your hair and take three smaller sections near the front of your face, just above ear level. Begin braiding these three sections as you would in a traditional braid (crossing one section over the other).
6. Add more hair into each section as you braid: As you cross each section over in the braid, add some loose hair from behind it into that same section before crossing it over again. This creates the half-braided effect and works its way down towards your nape.
7. Secure the braid: Once you reach the nape of your neck and all the hair from that side has been included in the braid, secure it with a small, clear hairband, leaving the rest of your hair hanging below it in a curly pigtail.
8. Repeat on the other side: Now, move to the other side of your head and follow steps 5-7 to create another curly half-braided pigtail. Make sure both pigtails are evenly sized.
9. Add volume to your braids: If desired, gently pull on individual sections of your braids to make them appear fuller and more voluminous. Just be careful not to pull too hard or you may undo the braids.
10. Accessorize (optional): You can add accessories like decorative hairpins, ribbon, or scrunchies to your pigtails for additional flair.
11. Finish with hairspray: To ensure your curly half-braided pigtails stay in place all day, finish with a light hold hairspray.
And voilà! You have successfully created gorgeous curly half-braided pigtails. This versatile hairstyle is perfect for any occasion and can be dressed up or down depending on your mood or outfit. Enjoy showing off your new look!
