TikTok has taken the world by storm with its creative short videos, catchy songs, and enthusiastic user base. However, there might come a time when you want to move on from TikTok or simply need to delete your account for personal reasons. Follow these seven simple steps to delete your TikTok account permanently:
1. Open the TikTok app: Ensure that you have the latest version of the app installed on your device. Open it and sign in using your credentials.
2. Go to your profile: Tap on “Me” icon located in the lower right-hand corner of the screen to access your profile.
3. Access settings: In the top right-hand corner of your profile screen, tap on the three vertical dots (ellipsis) to open the “Settings and Privacy” menu.
4. Manage account: In the “Settings and Privacy” menu, scroll down to find and tap on the “Manage Account” option.
5. Choose ‘Delete account’: At the bottom of the “Manage Account” screen, you will see an option called “Delete account.” Tap on this option.
6. Verify your identity: Before proceeding with account deletion, TikTok will ask you to verify your identity for security purposes. Depending on how you signed up for TikTok, this could involve email or phone verification. Complete this step as prompted.
7. Confirm account deletion: After verifying your identity, a popup will appear informing you about what happens when you delete your account (e.g., loss of uploaded content, purchase history). Take a moment to review this information internally. If you are sure about deleting your account, tap on ‘Delete Account’ in red at the bottom of the popup.
And that’s it! Your TikTok account is now deleted permanently. Keep in mind that once deleted, you won’t be able to recover your data or reactivate the account. So be sure about your decision before proceeding with these steps.
