How to Convert Files and Folders to ISO on Windows
If you need to create a backup of your files or folders and want to store them on a single file, one of the best options you can take is to convert them to an ISO file. This type of file format is a disc image file that contains all the information, including the file system, boot sector, and file attributes of the original files or folders. In this way, you can easily backup, store, and transport all your important data in a single file. In this article, we will show you how to convert files and folders to ISO on Windows.
Method 1: Using Windows Built-in Feature
Windows comes with a built-in feature that allows you to create an ISO file from any type of data.
Here’s how to use it:
Step 1: Select the files and folders you want to convert into an ISO file.
Step 2: Right-click on the selection and select Send to from the context menu.
Step 3: Click on Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a compressed folder that contains all the selected files or folders.
Step 4: Rename the compressed folder with a .iso extension. For example, if the folder’s name is archive, you can rename it to archive.iso.
Step 5: You will now have an ISO file that contains all the selected files and folders.
Method 2: Using a Third-Party Tool
If you want more advanced features or need to convert multiple files and folders to ISO at once, you can use a third-party tool such as PowerISO, WinISO, or MagicISO. Here’s how to use PowerISO:
Step 1: Download and install PowerISO on your computer.
Step 2: Launch the program and select File > New > Data CD/DVD Image from the menu.
Step 3: In the next window, select the files and folders you want to add to the ISO file. You can also create new folders, rename files, and modify the file order.
Step 4: Click on the Save icon on the toolbar, select a location to save the ISO file, and give it a name.
Step 5: Click on the Save button, and PowerISO will create an ISO file that contains all the selected files and folders.
