How to Change Phone Number Associated With Apple ID
If you have recently changed your phone number or have a new contact number and want to update it on your Apple ID, then this article is for you! In this guide, we will walk you through the step-by-step process to change the phone number associated with your Apple ID.
Step 1: Open Settings
To start with, go to your device’s settings and click on your name (Apple ID) at the top of the screen.
Step 2: Go to Password & Security
In the next window, tap on “Password & Security” that appears to manage security features related to your Apple ID.
Step 3: Verify your Identity
In Password & Security, select on “Change Password” that brings up a prompt asking for your Apple ID passcode. After you enter the security code or use Touch ID, you’ll land on the next page.
Step 4: Click on Phone Number
Scroll down to the option with the label “Phone Number” and click it.
Step 5: Add New Phone Number
To edit the phone number associated with your Apple ID, select “Add a Trusted Phone Number” and add your new phone number.
Step 6: Verify Phone Number and Save Changes
After you add your new phone number, you will receive a verification code via text message or phone call to that new number. Put in the verification code to confirm that the new number is valid. You’ll see a confirmation message that says “This phone number can be used for account recovery”. From there, click “Done” to save your new phone number.
Step 7: Remove Old Phone Number (optional)
If you want to remove your old phone number, click the phone number you’re looking to remove, then click “Remove Phone Number” to delete it.
