How to Change Country/Region in the Google Play Store
Google Play Store is an online marketplace for Android users where they can download various apps, games, digital books, movies, and many more. It offers users an easy and convenient way to access and purchase digital content. However, the content available on the Google Play Store may vary based on your region or country. If you’re traveling abroad or want to access content from a different country, you may need to change your Google Play Store’s country or region settings. In this article, I will guide you through the process of changing your country/region in the Google Play Store.
Step 1: Check your Google Play Store country/region:
Before you change the country/region, it’s essential to verify your current location on the Google Play Store. To do this, open the Google Play Store app on your device and tap on the three-dot menu at the top right corner. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “Settings.” Here, you will see your current country or region.
Step 2: Change Google Play Store Country/Region:
To change your Google Play Store’s country/region, you need to use a VPN (Virtual Private Network). A VPN allows you to change your device’s IP address and location, making it appear as if you are in a different country. Here are the steps to change your Google Play Store’s country/region using a VPN:
- Download a VPN app (such as ExpressVPN, NordVPN, or Surfshark) on your device.
- Open the VPN app and connect to a server in the country where you want to change the Google Play Store’s location.
- After connecting to the VPN, go to your device’s Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage. Tap on “Clear Data” and “Clear Cache.”
- Reopen the Google Play Store app, and you’ll see a pop-up message asking you to switch to the new location. Click on “Continue.”
- Accept the Terms of Service and Payment Terms for the new country/region.
- Add a new payment method (if required) for the country/region.
- Once you have completed the payment method, you can start accessing the apps, books, and other content available in the new country/region.
Note: Changing your Google Play Store country/region may impact your Google Play Music subscription or other payment methods you have set up previously.
