How to Block and Unblock a User on Messenger
As social media becomes increasingly interactive, messenger apps play a key role in keeping us connected. However, as with most things online, there is always the possibility of encountering unwanted users. Whether it’s a spammer, an ex-partner, or someone who harasses you, it’s essential to know how to block and unblock users on Messenger. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate.
Blocking a User on Messenger
1. Open the Messenger app: Open the Messenger app on your device.
2. Search the User: Tap on the search bar to search for the user you want to block.
3. Tap on the User’s Profile: Once you’ve found the user’s name, tap on their profile to open a new window.
4. Click on “Block”: On the user’s profile window, click on the three dots in the top right-hand corner. A menu will appear, where you will need to select, “Block.”
5. Confirm Blocking: A pop-up message will appear asking you to confirm whether you want to “Block” the user. If you’re sure, click “Block” to confirm.
6. The User is Blocked: Once you’ve completed all the steps, the user will be blocked from your Messenger account.
Unblocking a User on Messenger
1. Open Messenger: Open the Messenger app and locate the user you want to unblock.
2. Open Account Settings: On the user’s profile window, click on the three dots in the top right-hand corner. A menu will appear, where you need to select Account Settings.
3. Click on “Blocking”: In Account Settings, at the bottom, you will see “Blocking.” Tap on it.
4. Unblock the User: You will now see a list of all the people you have blocked. Find the person you want to unblock and tap on “Unblock.”
5. Confirm Unblock: A pop-up message will appear, asking you to confirm whether you want to “Unblock” the user. If you’re sure, click “Unblock” to confirm.
