Hatch Recalls Nearly 1 Million Power Adapters Sold With Baby Sound Machines Due to Shock Hazard
Hatch, a popular baby product brand, has issued a recall for nearly 1 million power adapters that were sold with their baby sound machines. The recall comes after reports of a shock hazard, posing a danger to consumers and their little ones.
The power adapters in question were sold with various models of the Hatch Baby Rest Sound Machines, including the Rest, Rest+, and Rest Mini. These sound machines are used by parents to help soothe and lull their babies to sleep with white noise and other calming sounds.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the power adapters’ casing can break when plugged into an outlet, exposing the metal prongs and posing a risk of electric shock. So far, there have been 24 reports of the power adapters breaking, with no reported injuries.
Consumers who have purchased one of the affected products are advised to immediately stop using the power adapter and contact Hatch for a free replacement. The recalled power adapters were sold from September 2019 to March 2021 at various retailers, including Amazon, Buy Buy Baby, and Target.
Parents are urged to check the model number of their sound machine and power adapter to see if they are affected by the recall. The model numbers included in the recall can be found on the bottom of the sound machine and on the back of the power adapter.
Hatch is working closely with the CPSC to ensure the safety of consumers and their families. They have also issued a statement apologizing for any inconvenience this may cause and emphasizing their commitment to providing quality and safe products for infants and children.
If you believe you have a recalled power adapter, contact Hatch immediately to receive a free replacement. The safety of your little one is paramount, and it’s important to take swift action to prevent any potential hazards.
