Flash Flooding Overwhelms Roadways
Intense rains caused flash flooding in Lafayette, overwhelming drainage systems and stalling vehicles. The Vermilion River’s flood stage approached 12 feet, prompting a flash flood warning. The Lafayette Consolidated Government paused transit services and delayed the opening of the West Regional Library.
