Arlington Leaders Consider Changing Council Pay Rules
Arlington’s mayor and city council are considering asking voters to change how council members are paid for the first time in nearly 45 years. The current compensation, set in 1980, is significantly lower than today’s equivalent value. The proposed change would allow the council to adjust their pay by ordinance rather than through the city charter.
