Is Bloom Worth It? We Tested Out This Mental Health App So You Don’t Have To
Bloom is a mental health app that promises to help you manage anxiety, stress, and other emotional challenges. With features like mindful breathing exercises, guided meditations, and journaling prompts, the app aims to help users prioritize their mental well-being. But is it worth the subscription fee? We decided to test out Bloom for ourselves to give you an honest review.
First off, the app’s interface is clean and easy to navigate. The homepage features a menu with different categories, including “Meditate,” “Breath,” and “Journal.” There’s also a “Daily Bloom” section that suggests a different exercise to try each day.
One standout feature of Bloom is its guided meditations. The app offers a variety of options, from short five-minute sessions to longer ones that last up to 20 minutes. The meditations are led by different instructors and cover various themes, such as self-compassion, anxiety relief, and gratitude. We found the meditations to be calming and helpful in reducing stress.
Another feature we appreciated was the breathwork exercises. Bloom offers different types of breathing techniques, such as box breathing and 4-7-8 breathing, with visual cues to help you follow along. These exercises were a useful tool for managing anxiety and feeling more grounded.
The journaling prompts were perhaps the weakest aspect of Bloom. While the questions were thoughtful, there weren’t many options to choose from, and the prompts repeated often. Additionally, the app lacks a community aspect, so users can’t share their journal entries or connect with others going through similar experiences.
