North Dakota Seeks to Intervene in Dakota Access Pipeline Lawsuit
The state of North Dakota has requested to become a defendant in the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s lawsuit against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The lawsuit seeks to shut down the Dakota Access Pipeline, citing violations of federal law. North Dakota argues that closing the pipeline would have severe economic impacts, including the loss of significant state revenue and thousands of jobs.
