How to Add and Remove Holidays in Outlook Calendar on Mobile and Desktop
Adding and removing holidays in your Outlook calendar is a helpful way to keep track of significant dates and manage your schedule. Here’s how you can do it on both mobile devices and desktop.
On Desktop:
1. Open your Outlook Calendar by logging into your account through the Outlook application or via a web browser.
2. Go to the ‘File’ tab at the top left corner of the screen.
3. Select ‘Options’ from the drop-down menu to open the Outlook Options window.
4. In the Outlook Options window, click on ‘Calendar’ in the sidebar.
5. Scroll down to the ‘Calendar options’ section and look for the button that says “Add Holidays…”
6. Click on this button, and a list of countries will appear.
7. Check the box next to each country for which you want to add holidays, then click ‘OK.’
8. Outlook will then import all public holidays for the selected locations into your calendar.
To remove holidays from your Outlook Calendar on desktop:
1. Go back to your Calendar view and switch to a mode that lets you see a full list of events (e.g., List or By Category).
2. Use the search field or filter options to locate holidays.
3. Select all the holiday events you want to remove.
4. Right-click on one of the selected events and choose “Delete” from the context menu.
On Mobile:
As of my knowledge cutoff in 2023, adding holidays directly through Outlook mobile app is typically not supported as it is on desktop. However, you may add them manually by:
1. Open your Outlook app on your mobile device.
2. Tap on the calendar icon to switch to calendar view.
3. To add a holiday manually, tap on the plus sign or date where you want to add an event.
4. Enter the details of the holiday such as name, date, and if it repeats annually.
5. Save your event by tapping on the checkmark or save option, depending on what device you’re using.
For removing holidays:
1. Go to Calendar view in your Outlook app
2. Locate the holiday you wish to remove by scrolling through your calendar or searching for it.
3. Tap on the holiday event to see its details
4. Delete it by tapping on ‘Delete’ or Trash icon
Remember that manually added events can be removed this way; however, if your mobile device’s calendar is synced with another calendar service that supports adding holidays automatically (like Google Calendar), then those will need to be removed through that particular service’s application or website.
By following these steps for both mobile and desktop versions of Outlook, managing holidays within your calendar can be done quickly and effectively, ensuring that you always have a clear overview of when important days are coming up.
