How to Play Slamwich: 12 Steps
Slamwich is a fast-paced card game that tests players’ reflexes and critical thinking skills. If you’re looking to enjoy some competitive fun with friends or family, follow these twelve simple steps on how to play Slamwich.
1. Gather your equipment:
To play Slamwich, you will need the Slamwich card deck. The deck contains a mix of bread slice cards, various filling ingredient cards, and special action cards.
2. Set up the game:
Sit around a table with enough space for all players to place cards and slap the deck. Shuffle the deck thoroughly and deal evenly among all players. Players keep their cards face-down in a pile.
3. Understand the card types:
The majority of cards in the Slamwich deck are ingredient cards (like bacon, egg, etc.) or bread cards that act as covers/toppings. There are also three special action cards: Thief, Muncher, and Swap.
4. Learn about basic “slamwiches”:
A “slamwich” is formed when two identical ingredient cards are placed on top of each other with one different card sandwiched between them (e.g., egg-bacon-egg). Bread cards cannot be part of a slamwich.
5. Learn about double-deckers:
A “double-decker” is formed when two slamwiches appear atop one another (e.g., egg-bacon-egg-tomato-bacon-tomato). Bread cards cannot be part of a double-decker either.
6. Start playing:
Beginning with a player and moving clockwise, each person takes turns flipping a card from their pile onto the central stack without looking at it first.
7. Watch for slamwiches and double-deckers:
If you see a slamwich or double-decker forming in the central stack, quickly slap it with your hand. The first person to slap the stack claims all cards in it. Then, shuffle your newly acquired cards into your pile.
8. Respond to special action cards:
– Thief: When played, the next player must place one or two cards onto the central stack to act as “guards.” Whoever slaps a thief card sandwiched between these guards wins the stack.
– Muncher: Place it on the central stack and announce a number between one and five. The next player must add that many cards on top of the Muncher. Players take turns playing their cards until a slamwich is made, which anyone can claim by slapping it.
– Swap: When played, players exchange hands with someone else at the table.
9. Keep an eye on other players:
If you slap the deck when there isn’t a valid slamwich or double-decker, or if you slap during play of Muncher cards but there’s no slamwich yet, you must give up one of your cards as a penalty.
10. Run out of cards:
If a player runs out of cards during their turn, they remain in the game but are skipped on subsequent turns. If they win a pile by slapping a slamwich or double-decker later, they can continue playing.
11. End of the game:
Play continues with participants flipping their cards and slapping slamwiches and double-deckers until only one player has cards left.
12. Become the Slamwich Master:
The last player holding cards is declared as the winner and crowned as the Slamwich Master!
Now that you know how to play Slamwich with these twelve simple steps, gather your friends and family for hours of energetic fun and fierce competition.
