How to Draw Sailor Venus: 6 Steps
Step 1: Basic Sketch
Begin with some rough sketches for the basic structure of Sailor Venus. Start by drawing a circle for her head, followed by simple lines for her neck, shoulders, and body. Remember to keep the proportions like that of a typical anime character – larger eyes, slender body and long limbs.
Step 2: Facial Features
Now that you have the basic structure, start refining the facial features. Draw two big oval-shape eyes with semi-circular eyelids. Position them evenly on either side of the head. Add thin eyebrows above the eyes and a small nose and mouth below them. Draw Sailor Venus’s trademark crescent moon-shaped marks on her forehead.
Step 3: Hairstyle
Sailor Venus’s hair is long, straight, and golden-orange. To draw her hair, make two curved lines from the top sides of her face down to her shoulders to represent the front strands. Then, sketch out the back section of her hair with one full-length strand on each side, reaching down to her knees.
Step 4: Sailor Outfit
Begin drawing Sailor Venus’s outfit by adding the sailor collar around her neck. Next, draw a bow on her chest area with a heart-shaped brooch in its center. Follow up by sketching a short skirt and V-shaped belt around her waist. Add pleats to the skirt for added detail.
Step 5: Accessories and Details
Draw the white elbow-length gloves with broad, folded cuffs on both arms. Add ribbons around the gloves’ cuffs and two more ribbons on her shoes to represent ankle boots in classic Sailor Moon style. Finally, draw Sailor Venus’s signature orange shoes with small heels.
Step 6: Final Touches and Inking
Now that your drawing is complete, erase any rough sketch lines or unnecessary marks. Go over your final drawing with a pen or marker to bring out the bold, clean lines of your Sailor Venus illustration. You can also add shading or coloring to give your drawing a more polished and finished look.
In just six steps, you’ve now created your very own Sailor Venus illustration! Keep practicing and refining your skills to improve your drawing abilities and create even more detailed art in the future.
