3 Ways to Wrap a Round Gift
Whether it’s a festive season or a special occasion, presenting a beautifully wrapped gift can make the receiver feel extra special. But wrapping a round gift can be quite challenging as it requires special skills and techniques. No need to worry, though – we have got you covered! In this article, we will discuss three different ways to wrap a round gift effortlessly.
1. The Pleated Method
The pleated method of wrapping involves creating folds around the round gift by following these simple steps:
a. Lay out the wrapping paper flat on a surface and place the round object in the middle of the paper.
b. Using the edge of the paper closest to you, start tucking the paper under the base of the object.
c. Pull the other half of the paper around and overlap with this initial pleat.
d. Continue creating pleats one after another until you encircle the entire object with snug folds.
e. Once completed with pleats, secure them with tape on top.
f. Now, tuck in excess paper at both ends, starting with one end, using your fingers to create neat folds.
g. Secure these folds using double-sided tape if needed, and repeat on the other side.
2. The Tissue Paper Technique
Soft tissue paper has more flexibility than traditional wrapping paper, which makes it ideal for wrapping round gifts.
a. Choose multiple sheets of tissue paper in colors that complement your gift (2-3 sheets work well).
b. Place tissue paper layers down on your work surface like a fan by overlapping them slightly at one end.
c. Put your round gift in the center of these layered sheets and bring all sides up towards the top.
d. Carefully gather all edges together while maintaining your round gift shape inside.
e. Optional: You may add colorful ribbons and bows around the gathered tissue paper for an attractive effect.
3. The Fabric Wrapping Method
If you want to choose an eco-friendly and reusable wrapping method, fabric wrapping (also known as Furoshiki) is a great option.
a. Choose a fabric square that’s large enough to wrap around your round gift completely.
b. Lay the fabric flat with the patterned side facing down and place the round object in the center.
c. Bring opposite corners of the fabric together above the gift, twisting them while keeping the bottom corners in place.
d. Knot those twisted ends together with a tight double knot or bow.
e. Secure any loose edges by tucking them in or using additional knots or bows.
