4 Ways to Go to Tagaytay
If you’re looking for a quick getaway near the bustling city of Manila, Tagaytay is the perfect destination. Known for its breathtaking views, cool climate, and various tourist attractions, this place is truly a must-visit. Getting there is relatively easy and convenient, with several transportation options available. Here are four ways to go to Tagaytay.
1. By Private Vehicle
Driving to Tagaytay by private vehicle is, by far, the most convenient option. Take the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), and exit at Sta. Rosa or Eton City before following the road signs towards Tagaytay. The journey usually takes around 1 to 1.5 hours from Metro Manila, depending on traffic conditions and your starting point. Make sure to bring a map or use GPS navigation apps like Waze or Google Maps to make your trip smoother.
2. By Bus
For those who prefer public transportation, taking a bus is another popular option. There are numerous bus companies in Manila that offer services going directly to Tagaytay. Buses with routes to Nasugbu and Mendez usually pass through Tagaytay Rotonda (also known as Olivarez Plaza) – one of its main transportation hubs.
To catch one of these buses, head over to bus terminals located in Cubao, LRT Buendia-Taft, PITX Paranaque or Pasay City. The fare ranges from 60-100 PHP per person depending on your point of origin, and travel time is about 2-3 hours, depending on traffic.
3. By Van
For a faster but slightly more expensive alternative to buses, consider taking a van. Vans provide air-conditioned rides with fewer stops along the way, making them quicker than taking a bus. Visit van terminals at FTI Complex in Taguig, Starmall Alabang or EGI Mall in Pasay City. Fares range from 150-200 PHP per person, and travel time is around 1.5 – 2 hours.
4. By Taxi or Ride-hailing Services
If comfort and convenience are your highest priorities, you may opt for a taxi or ride-hailing service like Grab or Joyride. This option allows you to travel at your own pace and is especially useful if you have plenty of luggage. However, taxis can be quite expensive, particularly if you’re traveling during rush hour. Alternatively, GrabCar by Grab offers fixed rates to Tagaytay from different points in Metro Manila.
No matter which mode of transportation you choose, a visit to Tagaytay promises an enjoyable experience filled with picturesque sights, delicious local cuisine, and exciting activities for all ages.
