3 Ways to Share Wi-Fi Password From Mac to iPhone
Sharing Wi-Fi passwords from your Mac to your iPhone can be a convenient way to get your devices online without the hassle of entering complex passwords. Here are three methods to do it easily:
1. Use iCloud Keychain: Ensure both your Mac and iPhone are signed into the same iCloud account with Keychain enabled. On your Mac, connect to the Wi-Fi network to save the password to iCloud Keychain. On your iPhone, go to Wi-Fi settings and tap on the network name. The password should autofill from the Keychain if everything is set up correctly.
2. AirDrop the Wi-Fi Password: With both devices nearby and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on, connect your Mac to the desired Wi-Fi network. On your iPhone, go to the Wi-Fi settings and select the same network. A password sharing prompt should appear on your Mac asking if you want to share the password with your iPhone. Click “Share” and the password will be sent over.
3. Manually Share Using a QR Code: Create a QR code of your Wi-Fi network’s SSID and password using an online QR code generator. Choose the option for Wi-Fi when creating it, and enter the network’s name (SSID) and password. On your iPhone, use the camera app to scan the QR code, and a notification will pop-up allowing you to join the network.
These methods can greatly simplify getting all of your Apple devices connected to Wi-Fi networks without having to repeatedly type in passwords or remember complex strings of characters.
